FLOOD RESPONSE

Deliver Help & Hope

Fort McMurray has experienced flooding after the rivers surrounding the city began flooding on April 26, 2020. 12,936 were evacuated from their homes. When flood waters receded, 1,230 business and homes had been badly damaged.

Evacuating and property restoration during the current COVID-19 crisis make for a complex situation. This flood comes 4 years after the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire that burned thousands of homes and other buildings. A portion of the people who rebuilt homes after the fire are now having to again restore their homes.

While this situation is difficult, Fort McMurray is our city and we will rise together. Fort City is working with several partners, globally and locally, to respond to the flood and help our community recover.

Every dollar you give to the Fort City Flood Response Fund will go towards helping our neighbours get back on their feet.

We are generous.

We are courageous.

We are Fort McMurray strong.
